Standard specification: driver and passenger airbags, remote central deadlocking, electric windows, CD/radio player and height-adjustable driver's seat.
The New Astravan remains front-wheel drive and all models, bar those with the petrol engine, come with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. The petrol derivatives get a 5-speeder.
The front end of the New Astravan is identical to that of the cars while the roofline tapers backwards by 50mm, just like on the estate car, to improve air flow and help reduce the drag coefficient. Although it is based on the structure of the five-door estate car, every component has been re-assessed, uprated if necessary or redesigned so that it is purpose-built for light commercial duties. A great deal of attention has also been paid to making the load area as practical and usable as possible.
New Astravan's wheelbase is longer and the rear overhang shorter than the outgoing model which results in a 58mm increase in load length, taking it to 1,780mm. Maximum load height and width are also slightly greater at 900mm and 1,380mm respectively.
